Thanks to the popularity of the AR15 platform there are a ton of great cases to choose from. While hard cases have their advantages there’s no denying the benefits of a soft case. With their lightweight designs and ease of storage soft cases are quickly becoming my go to transportation option. Simply throw the rifle into the back of my truck and I’m off to the shooting range.

Blackhawk has a few soft cases on the market that will work perfectly with your AR15. Blackhawk tries to make all of their products extremely affordable. Their Sport Tact case is the perfect balance of quality and price. It’s a no frills case that doesn’t cost a lot of money.
For a budget soft case Blackhawk really does a lot to impress. You don’t get all of the color options and storage available on more expensive cases, but you do get a sturdy design. Constructed out of a tight weave heavyweight polyester this case is sure to last. Paired with the heavy duty dual-density foam and this case should last for years. By using a soft internal fabric and foam padding you won’t have to worry about damaging high end rifle builds. The case is only available in black, but comes in a few length configurations from 36-inch to 44-inch long. Both the straps and handle are reinforced and should give you years of consistent use. You’ll be able to carry up to 8 magazines and additional supplies in the other oversized compartment. Carry Blackhawk designed their soft case to be the everyman’s case, and it would definitely protect your AR15.

Voodoo Tactical’s Deluxe Rifle Case costs a little bit more, but it’s extremely nice. It can easily hold your AR15 or up to two long guns and other gear with additional storage options on the outside of the case. If you can afford it you won’t go wrong with this Voodoo Tactical Case.

With three oversized storage pouches and molle straps you can easily organize all of your range gear. The case is available in three color options and differing lengths. It’s available in black, coyote and olive drab. Choose between the 42″ and 36″ case, which is the perfect size for your AR15. The outer pouches are designed to hold up to 6 30 round magazines. I don’t think that I could make a soft case cheaper than NcStar sells this case. NcStar chose a classic military style design, which is both functional and tough. At a fraction of the cost of the other options on this list this case is well worth a look.
NcStar constructed their soft case to be an affordable option for the average shooter. You won’t get all the fancy bells and whistles found in the more expensive options. What you do get is an extremely durable soft case constructed out of a durable PVC material and High Density foam. It’s available in 5 different sizes from 36″ all the way up to 45″, so you should be able to find one that suits your rifle. While carrying your rifle you can also store up to ten 30 round magazines in the outer pouches. With two color options, olive drab and coyote, you can match the rest of your tactical gear.

Uncle Mike’s Tactical Rifle Case is a moderately priced option with a lot of storage. Designed for the Law Enforcement community the Uncle Mikes case is sure to last a while. The lightweight design and additional pockets make this case an excellent choice.
Uncle Mike’s Tactical Case falls right in the sweet spot between affordable and professional gear. It has a lot of features that you don’t see on other affordably priced options. What I really like about the case is its full length zipper. The Full length zipper will allow you to open the case up fully flat. There’s even a snap to lock the case in the open position. Not only does a flat case make it easier to load, it will be much easier to store. With 5 exterior pockets you’ll be able to store all your gear for a trip to the range. It has storage for up to 6 30 round magazines and a few pistol magazines. The other oversized pouch can either be used for a pistol or a basic range kit. I really wish it came with a shoulder strap at this price, but the reinforced handle works also. Make sure you buy the 43 inch case, because the 33 inch case is a little to small for most Rifles.

When you need to carry a lot of gear to the range look for this Condor Single Rifle Case. Condor designed this case so that it would be the only thing you need at the range. With lots of pockets and molle straps you should be able to get everything you need into this case.
With multiple color options and lengths there’s a Condor case that will work for everyone. It’s available in 36″ and 42″ length and black, Coyote and Olive Drab. What really sets this soft case apart from the competition is the extra 26″ pouch along the back of the case. The extra pouch has 2 internal pockets which would be perfect for carrying your 1911 or other full sized handgun. On the other side of the case there’s three oversized utility pockets. These utility pockets use a modular design that can be adjusted to suit your needs. With 3/4″ padding this case will provide reliable protection against bumps and dings.
