It sprays on easily, lasts a long time and doesn’t leave smelly chemical residue on your skin. I’m personally not a huge fan of the Ballistol smell, but it will be gone in an hour or less. Ballistol can be used on just about anything you can imagine. You can clean Firearms, Knives, Leather, Wood, ToolsRubber and tons of other stuff. In one simple step you Ballistol Lubricates, Penetrates, Cleans Protects and Preserves. With millions of different uses I think everybody should have a can of Ballistol on their Work Bench.

Hoppes No 9 Lubricating oil is easily the most recommended gun oil at every Local Gun Store. While Hoppes doesn’t do all the fancy things ballistol can, it’s easily the best Lubricant on the market. When you need long lasting performance you should turn to Hoppe’s No 9.

When you need long lasting protection you should turn to Hoppe’s No 9. For a very long time Hoppe’s has been outperforming almost every other lubricant in the business. What I really love about Hoppe’s is that it’s extremely easy to apply. Whether you apply a dab to your 1911 slide or use it with the Hoppe’s No. 9 Gun Cleaning Patch you’re firearm will perform flawlessly every time. I really love the small nozzle tip that’s included on the application bottle. You’ll be able to get in all the little nooks and crannies without fully breaking down your firearm. I love to keep the Hoppe’s precision applicator on hand and refill it using one of the larger bottles. For years of trouble free guns a small bottle of Hoppe’s No9 is all you need.

3. Break-Free CLP-4 Cleaner Lubricant and Preservative

I’ve kept a bottle of BreakFree CLP-4 Cleaner and Lubricant in my range bag and tackle box for many years. While it’s not my favorite gun oil at my workbench it’s one of the easiest cleaners to use when I’m at the range. With one quick spray CLP-4 penetrates and and spreads into every pit and crevice in your gun. Whenever I have a feeding issue a quick spray of CLP-4 will normally do the trick.

This is by far the easiest to use gun cleaner and lubricant. I’ve had many range days saved with a quick spray down the end of my barrel. After a quick 2 minute bore cleaning I won’t have to worry about any failure to fires. With a large bottle and easy spray tube you can coat your guns liberally. Giving you a long-lasting lubricating film that will dramatically reduce the adhesion of particles that cause unusual wear and failure. Corrosion prohibitors will protect your rifle from rust, moisture and other contaminants. Designed to never lose viscosity, you won’t have to worry about CLP gunking up or drying in harsh environments. It’s the perfect gun lubricant for humid environments and salty sea air.

4. Hoppe’s No. 9 Synthetic Blend Lubricating Oil

Just like the original Hoppe’s No9 the synthetic blend is an excellent firearm lubricant. Hoppe’s developed the synthetic blend especially for use on polymer pistols. While the original No 9 Formula can be used on polymer pistols there could be long term damage to your firearms finish.

If you shoot a Glock or other primarily polymer pistol I would highly recommend the Hoppes Synthetic Blend. The synthetic blend is designed specifically for polymer pistols, but works just as good on your 1911 or revolver. The synthetic blend penetrates deep and lubricates for smooth firing. It will provide a long lasting barrier against moisture and corrosion. It doesn’t matter if your in the salty florida air or the Arizona heat your gun will perform flawlessly. Reduce your wear and protect your polymer pistol with the Hoppe’s No9 Synthetic Blend.

5. Hoppe’s M-Pro7 LPX Gun Oil

M-Pro 7 Gun oil is another great gun oil for cleaning and lubricating your firearms. While M-Pro7 is a little more expensive than traditional gun oils, a bottle will last you a very long time. Due to the high viscosity it’s one of the easiest oils that I’ve ever used. One little dab of oil will stay where you put it allowing you to control exactly what gets oiled. It’s the perfect oil for throwing into your range bag with a few q-tips. One quick dab should solve many of the common feed problems found in semi auto pistols.

Like all good lubricants M-Pro 7 LPX Gun Oil will protect your firearm from rust and other problematic materials. It leaves a very thin film on your guns that doesn’t collect dirt or sand. You won’t have to worry about grit sticking and causing feeding issues. For smooth operation and easy application buy the M-Pro7 LPX Gun Oil.

What’s The Best Gun Lube For Firearms

It’s really not difficult to find the best gun lube. All good gun lubes will lubricate and protect your firearms for a lifetime of use. While all of the above gun lubricants are good my favorite is good old fashioned Ballistol. Since it’s so easy to use and has a million uses I always have some on hand. When I fully breakdown my firearms I tend to lean more towards Hoppe’s No. 9 and the Synthetic Blend for polymer pistols. When I need heavy duty cleanup I like to use Break-Free CLP-4.
