Are you allowed to carry a gun at work?&nbsp; After you figure out a little bit about yourself you should have a better grasp on holster options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6>Determine How You Want To Carry<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>The first thing that you are going to need to do is figure out how you are going to carry your gun.&nbsp; Luckily the Ruger LCR is a versatile gun so you have a lot of options.&nbsp; Determine if you are going to open carry or carry concealed.&nbsp; Unless you&#8217;re in law enforcement or live in a gun friendly town I would highly recommend a concealed carry holster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Inside Waistband Carry(IWB Carry):\u00a0 <\/strong>IWB carry is by far the most popular carry method, and for good reason.\u00a0 It&#8217;s one of the easiest and most comfortable carry options available.\u00a0 By tucking the holster into your waistband you are able to conceal your gun in just about any outfit.\u00a0 You&#8217;re going to have to choose between appendix carry and small of the back(or anything in between).\u00a0 Personally I prefer appendix carry, but it&#8217;s up to you.<\/li><li><strong>Ankle Carry:<\/strong>\u00a0 Ankle holsters offer a deep level of concealment not found in other holster options.\u00a0 Ankle holsters are nearly invisible and perfect for corporate settings.\u00a0 If concealed carry is frowned upon you can always wear a ankle holster.\u00a0 They&#8217;re especially popular in customer facing positions where a gun could make people feel uncomfortable.<\/li><li><strong>Outside The Waistband(OWB):<\/strong>\u00a0 OWB holsters are another common option.\u00a0 Especially in the law enforcement community.\u00a0 Unless you plan on wearing baggy clothing everyday you&#8217;re going to need to make sure open carry is legal in your state.\u00a0 Some states have backwards laws about carrying openly in public.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h6>Retention<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Retention is one of those things that can make or break a holster.&nbsp; Holster retention comes in two different flavors: passive and active retention.&nbsp; Passive retention holsters are designed to hold the gun stable through proper construction.&nbsp; The different materials used and shape of the holster will affect the holsters hold.&nbsp; Most holsters use a passive retention system and some are even adjustable.&nbsp; Active retention systems use a user activated retention system to release the gun, like buckles and push buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6><strong>Holster<\/strong> Fitting<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a ton of different holster options on the market to choose from.&nbsp; You might be tempted to buy that cheap 5$ universal holster you saw at Wal-Mart, but try and resist.&nbsp; Universal holsters not only offer horrible retention and draw speed they can often damage your gun.&nbsp; Just think about your gun wiggling around in a ill fitted holster made out of a rough material.&nbsp; The though of damaging a few of my prized guns is enough to make my skin craw.&nbsp; Due to the poor retention systems most universal holsters tend to use a strap style retention system.&nbsp; Meaning you have to slowly unbuckle the strap before you draw.&nbsp; That might be ok when you&#8217;re out hunting, but it&#8217;s not going to cut it in a self defense situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can&#8217;t just buy any holster and hope that it&#8217;s going to fit your gun.&nbsp; Do yourself a favor and buy a holster that&#8217;s designed specifically for the Ruger LCR.&nbsp; It will offer excellent retention without the need for straps, and significantly improve your draw speed.&nbsp; Leather holsters are often tight when you first buy them, but they will expand to the perfect size in time.&nbsp; Polymer holsters work a little bit differently.&nbsp; Most polymer holsters use a retention system that can be adjusted.&nbsp; To adjust a polymer holster simply screw or unscrew to adjust the tightness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6>Function<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>To determine your function you will first need to examine where you are going to use the gun.&nbsp; Other than avoiding a few beers at the bar, you shouldn&#8217;t have to adjust your lifestyle to carry a gun. Choose a gun and holster that matches your lifestyle not the other way around.&nbsp; Ideally the holster won&#8217;t require a lot of upkeep and secure your firearm under all circumstances.&nbsp; You&#8217;re going to have to pick a holster that matches your wardrobe.&nbsp; Don&#8217;t choose a shoulder holster if you wear tank tops everyday or ankle holster if you regularly wear shorts.&nbsp; It&#8217;s not rocket science, it just takes a little bit of common sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Which is The Best LCR Holster?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In my <g class=\"gr_ gr_12 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"12\" data-gr-id=\"12\">opinion<\/g> the <g class=\"gr_ gr_14 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"14\" data-gr-id=\"14\">best concealed<\/g> carry holster for the Ruger LCR is the Relentless Tactical Defender Holster. It is a very <g class=\"gr_ gr_15 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"15\" data-gr-id=\"15\">high quality<\/g> IWB holster and should last for the life of the Ruger LCR. I personally have an affinity for leather holsters, if you prefer the lightweight <g class=\"gr_ gr_10 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace\" id=\"10\" data-gr-id=\"10\">kydex<\/g> holsters than you will probably like the Blade-Tech Holster.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The blade tech holster offers a high level of quality at a very low cost. There are a lot of ankle holsters available for the Ruger LCR.
