The Marlin Model 60 is one of the most popular .22 caliber rifles in history. It’s been around for over 50 years and is still holding it’s own. The lightweight design and accurate barrel make it fun for the whole family. I might have been able to shoot tin with iron sights when I was a child, but as time goes on some of us need a good set of optics. Paired with a mid range scope it’s one hell of a plinking rifle.

It really doesn’t take a lot of money to find a high quality scope for a plinking rifle. Since the Marlin fires the .22LR round you won’t need a big budget scope. You’re going to need to find a compact scope with decent magnification.

Due to its lightweight design you’re going to need to find a very lightweight scope. You won’t need a lot of magnification while shooting a 22LR rifle. The relatively short ballistic properties of the 22LR round means that you should stay with 3-9x magnification or less.

The Bushnell Trophy 3-9x Rifle Scope is one of the best scopes you can buy for the money. This reasonably priced scope is perfect for any small 22LR rifle.

Bushnell is a trusted brand in the firearm industry and they make a very reliable optic. With a Bushnell product you can expect this scope to last for many years. This Bushnell Trophy 3-9x scope is going to be very hard to beat at this price.

The Bushnell Trophy platform of rifle scopes comes in a wide variety of magnifications. The 3-9x magnification range, give you the most scope for your dollar.

It gives you the perfect amount of range for the 22LR cartridge. The 3x magnification will allow you to shoot 20-50yards while the 9x magnification will stretch you out close to 200+ yards which is the max range of a 22.

I’m surprised at how clear Bushnell’s glass is for the price. You will see a very minimal amount of distortion even at the far ends of the magnification range. It’s not illuminated, but you will have decent light output even in low light settings.

The entire Bushnell Trophy line of products offer completely nitrogen filled tubes. The scope should be 100% waterproof, fogproof and shockproof.

Not everybody needs an expensive scope. CVLIFE’s lineup of scopes are more than enough for most plinking rifles. Affordable scopes are always a great option for compact plinking rifles.

You should always match your scope to the gun. The Model 60 is a fairly cheap rifle, so it would be a waste to overpay for a scope. With a CVLIFE scope you get a lot more value than the price implies.

Almost anyone can afford this durable little rifle scope. While I probably wouldn’t trust a cheap scope out in the woods on my hunting rifle, it’s more than good enough to shoot paper.

These scopes are actually very nice for the price. You aren’t going to get the same lens quality found on more expensive scopes, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. The glass is actually surprisingly clear for the price.

Like with all cheap scopes you will have some noticeable distortion, but it’s more than acceptable. The 40mm objective lens provides plenty of light, and the multi-coating helps increase contrast. In bright sunlight you might have to deal with a little bit of glare caused by the cheap multi-coating.

You can easily adjust the magnification with clear focus. For a budget sight, it’s actually more rugged than I was expecting. With a moisture resistant body and durable frame it will more than stand up to moderate abuse.

Not everyone wants a traditional scope for their rifle. Plinking rifles are the perfect chance to try out your first red dot. Red dots have dropped in price pair well with 22LR Rifles. You can’t beat the Bushnell TRS-25 at its low price. Known for being the most durable budget red dot on the market.

Another product in Bushnell’s Trophy Lineup. Like the above scope this red dot is extremely durable for the price. It can be used on anything from pistols to heavy recoil hunting shotguns.

By far the most durable budget red dot, it’s completely waterproof and shockproof. Backed by Bushnell’s lifetime warranty, you won’t have to worry about damaging this red dot.

At about the size of my thumb this red dot will fit neatly on your rifle. It might be tiny, but the sight picture seems huge. Using amber high contrast glass, you’ll have a clear sight picture in just about any lighting conditions. Multiple illumination settings allow you to further adjust the brightness.

With unlimited eye relief and a parallax free design, you’ll always have a clear sight picture. Blazing fast target acquisition will allow you to bump up your shooting skills.
